Arie Laor, Chief Executive Officer
Mr Laor joined the Company in 2005 as Chief Executive. From 2002 to 2004 Mr Laor
was VP marketing and business development for Ortal Die Casting Ltd a company listed
on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, with production sites in China and Israel. From
2000 to 2002 he was an engineering manager in Tower Semiconductors Ltd. From 1995-2000
he was VP marketing at Zika Electrode Works Ltd, and a Director of Weldrite UK,
Weldrite US and Soudage France. Arie obtained his BSc in 1990 and MSc in 1992 in
Materials Engineering from the Ben Gurion University, and an MBA from the Management
College in Israel in 1995.
Itzhak Rosenthul, Chief Technology Officer and Director
Mr. Rosenthul has served as chief technology officer and operations director of
Summet since 1999. Prior to this he was a technical consultant for Ozem 95 a consulting
company. From 1995 to 1998 he was production manager at Avner Gafni Ltd, a producer
of large steel structures. From 1987 to 1994 he was an engineer in the metallurgical
laboratory of Blades Technologies Ltd, a producer of blades for jet planes. From
1984 to 1986 he was a technology engineer for the Power Station Equipment Renovation
Company with responsibilities which included the development of a number of processes
for the renovation and protection from wear for various power station equipment
for plasma coating. Subsequent to university Mr. Rosenthul held a number of engineering
positions in companies in Russia and in Israel. Mr. Rosenthul was educated at the
Polytechnic Institute of Leningrad from 1973 to 1979 where he obtained a BSc and
an MSc in Physical Metallurgy.
Victor Segal, Non-Executive Chairman
Mr Segal joined the Company as non-executive chairman in October 2006. After taking
an MA in Law from Oxford University, and practicing briefly as a solicitor, Mr Segal
joined the merchant bank Singer & Friedlander Ltd. in 1968. He sat on the board
from 1976 until his retirement from the bank in 2000. He was employed in the investment
department and then in the international department and became its head in 1984.
Areas of experience included international trade finance and loan syndication of
international government debt. In 1983, he pioneered the secondary market in trading
of third world financial assets shortly after the onset of the third world debt
crisis of the 1980s. Latterly, Mr Segal sat on the bank's executive and risk review
committees. Since 2000, he has been involved in assisting in financing start-up
companies. He is Chairman of Supercart PLC, an AIM listed company.
Robert Hayim, Non-Executive Director.
Mr Hayim is a Managing Director with Charles Street Securities, Inc where he is
responsible for supervision of private equity portfolio investments. Mr Hayim has
been involved in the start-up of technology businesses in the financial markets.
He founded and was managing director of E-Vote Limited from 1997 to 2000. This was
a company that automated proxy voting at company meetings for institutional shareholders.
Thomson Financial purchased a controlling shareholding in December 1998 and Mr Hayim
resigned as Managing Director in late 2000. In 1995 he founded Data Source Limited
and was Managing Director until 1998. This business offered premium-priced voting
research services. From 1991 to 1994 he was with Thomson Financial as general manager
of the electronics settlements group, and prior to that as business development
director for North America. From 1987 to 1988 he was sales and business development
director of Financial Telecommunications Ltd and from 1981 to 1987 he was with IP
Sharp & Associates, a multinational computer services company where he was responsible
for the development and establishment of the European banking products division.
Mr Hayim has a BA in Economics from the University of Leeds (1977) and an MBA in
management and finance from the Bradford Management Centre (1981).
James Thomson - CFO and Director.
Mr Thomson had been chief financial officer in IPC, prior to the acquisition by the Company,
since 2003. From 2001 to 2003 he served as a CFO for VSV Group, a $100 million manufacturer
of transit buses and ambulances acquired by Morganthaler in 1999 From 2003 to 2003 he was
CFO of Danville Automation Holdings LLC a $20 million manufacturer of assembly automation
equipment for the electronics and small parts distribution industry. From 1994 to 2000 he was
VP Finance & Administration at Teledyne Fluid Systems Group a $200 million manufacturer of
industrial equipment From 1973 to 1993 he served in different financial executive positions in
Arthur Andersen, AB Dick, BP Coal, and Mogul Corporation. He holds an MBA, Finance and Planning
from Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH, 1987, CPA, 1975 and a BS, Economics and Accounting,
Miami University, Oxford, OH, 1973.
